Ang nasabing lugar na sa ngayon ay halos natabunan na lamang ng mga lumot at iba’t-ibang halaman ay mayroong espekulasyon sa loob ng mahabang panahon.
May mga katanungan ang mga netizens, kung bakit nga ba mayroon malaking butas sa bandang dun, isa ba itong hindi natapos na proyekto? o ito ba ay resulta o epekto ng malakas na lindol?.
Subalit ayon sa Esquire Magazine, heto daw ang totoong nangyari sa lugar na yaon:
“In the mid-1990s, the lot owner, a company called San Buena Realty and Development Corp., partnered with E. Ganzon Inc (EGI) to develop the land. The site measures 4,109 square meters and the idea was to build a 77-story mixed-use building with an eight-story basement. It was going to have a hotel, luxury residential units, and a bar right at the top. The project was to be called SkyCity Tower, and the developers had dreams of it being the tallest building in the country.” the wrote.
But due to lack of credentials and permits, the said project was postponed, leaving the gaping hole stuck in the area.
